Happy Birthday...to ME!
Huzzah! Ya girl has made it through another year, albeit barely! The weather has tried to take me down and despite almost succeeding I, along with millions in the UK, just about made it through.
It has also been my birthday this week so I did what many a fully fledged adult does on their birthday…go to the zoo!
YES! Me and the hubby went to Chester Zoo and did the Predator Experience tour which starts before the zoo even opens.
We were with a lovely small group and the tour guides were amazing!
We got lucky and saw all the animals that were highlighted, including Leopards, Penguins and Sea Otters.
As we were in a small group, there was no fighting for position to get the best shot. There was plenty of room to get an up close view of these amazing animals without stepping on anybody else's toes!
It was a really great way to start the day so if you do happen to be going to Chester Zoo at any point, I highly recommend you book onto one of these tours which do differ, depending on the day you pick!

What have I been reading this week?
I've said it before so I'll say it again! If you are not following me on Instagram and now also TikTok (@readingerabyemma on both) you should as this is where Emma really excels in her bookish content! Ever evolving as I am still new to this space but I do love the community so much and one day I will settle on a style haha!
It's been a busy time so my reading has been a little all over the place, however, I have just started my tandem read/listen of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn from the fantasy epic, Throne of Glass series. I have never done a tandem read before and I'm really enjoying it! Now I will say, as someone who struggles with a brain that works a million miles an hour and likes to wander even when it's having fun, keeping up with two stories at once is a little challenging! I'm already forgetting character names and plot and I don't always remember to take notes! But just like my dog who still struggles to get up the stairs following her spinal surgery, I'm trying!
I'm a little behind where I want to be with both books but I need to finish them this week to stay on track. I plan to read/listen to the final book Kingdom of Ash next week before I can then FINALLY get back to ACOTAR. I've already read the first book in the series and from what I remember, I loved it! I keep getting spoilers popping up with all the ACOTAR talk right now so I need to get into it ASAP!
Birthday Books!
I was well and truly spoiled this year! These are the books I got for my birthday!
Some I got a little early but as you can see, I did good!
The Edge of Darkness series is my favourite dark romance series. I read books 1 & 2 a while ago but I've been holding off reading book 3 as I do not want the series to end!
This is a dark, dark series! A definite "check your trigger warnings before you dive" kind of series. Luckily not a lot triggers me so I was fine albeit, uncomfortable during some scenes!
Dungeon Crawler Carl is what I feel everyone is talking about so I cannot wait to get stuck into this series!
Same with the Fire & Metal series. I’ve only heard good things and I really will need to squeeze this in somewhere!
Throne of Glass I have of course already read, but this edition! LUSH!
Lightlark and The Fall were random requests haha! But I'm sure I'll read these…in 2027!
Ongoing changes with ReadingEraByEmma
So, you may notice that my blog looks a little different than last time. Also, the site itself looks a tad different. I touched on this in the last blog but things are changing and I'm hoping for the better.
I do plan on posting more. A lot more! But this will also come with time! My next blog will have a major update regarding the reviews section! What was going to happen…may no longer be happening. So watch this space!
As mentioned above, I really am still trying to find my style and vibe which I do think I'm getting closer to.
Thank you to those who have followed me on this journey so far. It has been erratic, but things are changing. Life is changing.
