I Stole Your Family (The Hunt Family #2) by Daniel Hurst
I’ll start by saying I really enjoyed this book! I didn’t realise this was the second book in a series, but honestly it never felt like it. It works perfectly well as a standalone.
The story mainly follows two female leads, Sadie and Luna, as they navigate their very different “new” lives.
Luna is very much the villain of the story. Quite literally the woman who stole Sadie’s family. We follow Sadie as she tries to piece together how her life completely unravelled, while also seeing events from Luna’s POV as she attempts to be the perfect partner to Sadie’s ex, all while revealing more and more of her rather disturbing personality.
Very early on I started referring to Luna as “Loco Luna” in my Kindle notes, and I may have called her a b*h a few times too… oops. She is definitely one of those characters you love to hate.
Overall, this is a cleverly written thriller packed with twists and turns. The ending sets things up nicely for the third book, which I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for. I’ll also be going back to read the first book in the series.
My overall verdict, this is a fast-paced psychological thriller with plenty of drama, twists, and a villain you’ll love to hate.
