The Long Game (Game Changers #6) by Rachel Reid

Picking up right after Heated Rivalry, Long Game throws us back into Isla & Shane’s near decade long romance & yes, I’m still completed obsessed & so will you!

Unlike the first book, which thrived on tension and self discovery, this one shows what happens when a couple actually knows each other & real life throws a few curveballs right at them & HARD.

Isla has moved teams to be closer to Shane however, his new team is less “championship contenders” and more “awe, well at least you tried.”  Shanes life however has barely budged.  His team’s still crushing it, and he’s just trying to focus on hockey without dealing with being an out & proud couple in the NHL.

The magic here is watching these two fully developed characters navigate their new and evolving world.  Isla’s determination to find himself again, Shane’s stubborn “feelings can wait” attitude, & all the little domestic and professional hurdles in between.

Verdict! If Heated Rivalry was the girthy starter, Long Game was the main course, hearty, satisfying, and leaving you ready for dessert, aka the next book!
