Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

Wow. Just…wow. This might be the best book I’ve read or listened to yet.

Ryland Grace starts out as a teacher and suddenly finds himself the only survivor on a mission to save the planet. Billion of lives in his hands, no teammates, and zero clue how to pilot a spaceship, definitely not the ideal start. As he figures it all out, the story jumps between his past and present, balancing humour, tension, and genuinely moving moments perfectly.

The audiobook is phenomenal. Ray Porter, take a bow! He really brings every character to life with personality and depth, you’ll barely want to read the book without it. It’s cinematic, immersive, and completely addictive.

The movie adaptation has some big shoes to fill, but if it even comes close to this, it’s going to be incredible.
